Northern Taiwan TR Lounge First Unveiled at Nangang Station

Taiwan Railway is dedicated to developing railway tourism and travel. In order to enhance the travel services and facilities at stations, Taiwan Railway has been continuously optimizing railway tourism services. Following the opening of the TR Lounge at Hualien Station in August last year, the first Taiwan Railway TR Lounge in the northern Taiwan was officially unveiled today at Nangang Station.

Nangang Station with its advantageous geographical location serves as a crucial transportation hub in the north of Taiwan. Apart from Taiwan Railway, it integrates various modes of transport such as Taiwan High Speed Rail, MRT, and National Highway Buses. Situated close to the Taipei Metro Area and Songshan International Airport, Nangang Station is the essential path to the north. Taiwan Railway collaborated with Lion Travel investing more than ten millions to create the first TR Lounge in northern Taiwan, providing travelers a leisurely space before departure and turning the waiting time into an enjoyable experience.

The design concept of the TR Lounge at Nangang Station is inspired by the idea of “VIP Room is an Art Gallery.” The corridor regularly showcases internationally renowned artworks and incorporates local culture, integrating elements of Nangang’s tea-growing heritage. Travelers not only get to experience the blend of modern art and traditional culture but also savor the profound heritage of Taiwanese tea and exquisite meals. Moreover, various lectures and music exchanges will be held periodically, providing a communication platform for business professionals.

From today on, passengers presenting a same-day business car ticket (including e-tickets) or showing the Taiwan Railway membership number are entitled to a 10% discount on all meals. Additionally, Taiwan Railway members are eligible for a double discount: members can exchange 100 points on the Taiwan Railway official website for a NT$50 discount coupon, which can be further combined with the 10% discount (please refer to https://www.railway.gov.tw/tra-tip-web/tip00J/tipJ11/view).

The integration of railway tourism and TR Lounge provides passengers a more diverse, comfortable, and full of cultural travel option. Through the two TR Lounges at Nangang and Hualien, along with surrounding transfer and service facilities, local characteristics are integrated to boost regional economic development. By utilizing rail transport to connect points and form a corridor for tourism in eastern Taiwan, the synergistic effects of a regional hub are realized. In the future, Taiwan Railway will continue to launch new TR Lounges at Xinwuri and Xinzuoying, offering more comprehensive railway tourism services. Sincerely invite you to embark on a journey of unique experience.
